Four Devices in One. Just 325 Grams.

The Falcon 640+ V2 is a handheld thermal, a helmet-mounted imager, a clip-on, and a dedicated weapon sight — all in 325 grams that fit in your palm.

Why This Device Exists

Most people buying their first thermal face a decision tree: do you want a handheld spotter, a helmet-mounted unit for moving at night, a clip-on for your day scope, or a dedicated thermal weapon sight? Each use case traditionally meant a separate device — and a separate price tag.

The Falcon 640+ V2 (known as the Rico Micro RH25 V2 in the US market) was designed to collapse all four of those categories into a single unit. It's built around an InfiRay 640×480 resolution sensor with 12μm pixel pitch, paired with an f/1.0 25mm lens. At just 325 grams and measuring 115×65×48mm, it's lighter than most dedicated helmet-mounted thermals and small enough to pocket when not in use.

This is the Falconclaw-branded version of the device — identical to the RH25 V2 in internals, but with Falconclaw's custom boot screen, housing color, and direct access to Falconclaw's ecosystem of QDA adapters, bridges, and mounts designed specifically around this unit.

What Changed from V1 to V2

The V2 isn't a minor refresh. The single most important upgrade is the sensor sensitivity: NETD dropped from ≤40mK on the V1 to ≤15mK on the V2. That's a 166% improvement in the device's ability to detect tiny temperature differences — the kind of improvement that turns a blurry warm blob at 800 meters into something you can actually identify.

The display bump to 1440×1080 AMOLED and the jump to 60Hz also matter in practice — especially when helmet-mounted, where you're scanning while moving and need smooth, readable imagery. The improved eye relief makes bridging with eye protection far more comfortable, removing the need for aftermarket lens upgrades that the older MH25 series required.

Four Modes, One Device

Handheld
Grab it, turn it on, scan. The simplest use case — scouting, observation, wildlife tracking.
⛑️
Helmet Mounted
Bridge-mounted for hands-free thermal navigation. Pairs with Falconclaw QDB bridge and QDA adapter.
🔭
Clip-On
Mounts in front of your day scope to add thermal capability without re-zeroing.
🎯
Weapon Sight
Reticle-equipped dedicated sight. Reticle disabled by default — activation subject to local law.

The ability to move between these modes quickly is where the Falconclaw ecosystem adds real value. The QDA (Quick Detach Adapter) lets you snap the Falcon 640+ V2 from your helmet bridge onto a rifle-mounted QDF flip-to-side mount in seconds — no tools, no re-zeroing. It's a system designed for people who don't want to carry three separate optics.

Clip-On Mode: Accurate Shots in Pitch Black

When mounted in front of an LPVO (Low Power Variable Optic), the Falcon 640+ V2 delivers its best image clarity as a clip-on thermal — enabling accurate shots in complete darkness at distances up to 400 meters.

The Falcon 640+ V2 mounted as a clip-on in front of an LPVO — the optimal configuration for precision shooting at night.

The key to getting the most out of clip-on mode is choosing the right LPVO to pair it with. A 1–6× or 1–10× optic is ideal. Anything with a base magnification over 4× will zoom in too much, which limits your field of view and makes the thermal's user interface difficult to read through the scope. At 1× you get maximum situational awareness; dial up to 6× or 10× when you need to positively identify a target at range.

LPVO pairing tip: Stick to 1–6× or 1–10× variable optics. A base magnification above 4× will crop the thermal image too aggressively — you lose field of view and can't comfortably read the on-screen interface. Lower base magnification = better thermal clip-on experience.

The 6.5+ hour runtime on a single 18650 cell is a big deal for extended operations. The device ships with two battery cap lengths (65mm and 70mm) to accommodate different 18650 sizes. 64GB of internal storage holds up to 1,600 images and 40 hours of video — with recoil-activated recording that captures the shot automatically. Wi-Fi is built in for firmware updates and file transfers, diopter compensation runs from -5 to +2 dpt, and there are three calibration presets plus a custom calibration distance option. The operating range of -40°C to +60°C means this device works in conditions most electronics give up on.

How It Fits the Falconclaw Ecosystem

This is where buying the Falcon 640+ V2 through Falconclaw makes a practical difference versus buying the same hardware elsewhere. Falconclaw manufactures the mounting accessories specifically designed for this device:

The QDA adapter (FC-QDA-PFN) locks the Falcon 640+ V2 into the Falconclaw dovetail system. From there it can slot into the QDF flip-to-side mount on a rifle rail — giving you a 90° stow/deploy with a 1.63" optical centerline — or onto the QDB bridge for helmet-mounted dual-tube-plus-thermal configurations. The QDA also works with Wilcox flip-to-side mounts, though the Falconclaw QDF is 50% lighter and cheaper than the Wilcox equivalent.

It's a genuine system rather than a collection of parts from different manufacturers that you hope will work together.

Reticle notice: The Falcon 640+ V2 ships with its weapon sight reticle disabled by default. Enabling it is subject to the laws of your country. Contact Falconclaw directly for guidance — you are responsible for compliance with local regulations.

What's in the Box

Falconclaw ships the Falcon 640+ V2 ready for all four modes out of the box. The package includes: a soft carry bag, two eyecups (one designed for the Picatinny mount, the other for helmet mounting and clip-on use), a helmet mount with minirail, a Picatinny mount, and the connector piece between the device and helmet mount. You also get dedicated screws for each configuration — blunt-tip for the helmet mount and triangle-tip for Picatinny — plus a USB-C charging and data cable, USB power adapter, battery charger, battery caps for both 18650 and 18700 cells, a microfiber cloth, and a tool kit.

Note on batteries: No batteries are included. Falconclaw recommends ordering Nitecore NL1834R 18650 cells from a local electronics store. Having a spare pair is worth it for extended operations — swapping a fresh 18650 takes seconds and buys you another 6.5+ hours.

Who Should Consider This

The Falcon 640+ V2 sits in the premium tier at around €3,530 – €4,377 depending on configuration — this is not a budget entry point. But if you're the kind of user who would otherwise buy a dedicated helmet thermal and a clip-on and a handheld spotter, the math works out. You're getting all three in a single 325g package with flagship-tier sensor performance.

Hunters running thermal for pest control benefit particularly from the clip-on mode: mount it when you need it, stow it when you don't, avoid the weight of a dedicated thermal scope during the day. For tactical users, the helmet-to-rifle modularity via Falconclaw's QDA system is the standout feature — move the device from helmet to rifle in seconds without tools.
