Description
The TLR-7 series has been our preferred choice for compact pistol lights for a long time. The switches are easily accessible without requiring a major adjustment to your grip, they fit perfectly with G19-sized handguns, and the light output is adequate for typical pistol engagement distances.
The latest addition to the TLR-7 series is the TLR-7 X, which is now compatible with Streamlight’s SL-B9 rechargeable battery (sold separately). This rechargeable option maintains the same 500-lumen/5000-candela output, with a slightly shorter runtime of 1 hour compared to the 1.5 hours from a CR123. Although the performance on paper is slightly lower, the long-term savings from not having to replace expensive batteries makes it a worthwhile trade-off in our opinion. If you are not interested in the rechargeable option, the TLR-7 X still looks and performs the same as the TLR-7A, so you won’t be losing any functionality if you prefer to continue using the CR123A batteries.
