A shield, not a germanium bill
The IGS Aspis is a protective hood for the IRay YM (J-YM) thermal, CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and black anodized. Its mesh shield guards the lens from airsoft BB impacts of around 1 joule, one of the few viable alternatives to an expensive germanium protection lens.
Machined aluminum hood
CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and anodized black.
Mesh shield
A 4.0 mm tall mesh with roughly 6 mm holes sits in front of the objective.
Stops airsoft impacts
Designed to save the device lens from airsoft BB impacts of around 1 joule.
Keeps the aperture
The design still allows use of the front aperture.
