Why the FC-BR
A binocular, not a monocular. Two independent pods, each on its own Photonis Echo+ white-phosphor tube, so depth perception and stereo vision hold up in the dark. Aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum housing, individual pod shut-off, autogated tubes.
Dual-tube binocular
Two independent intensifier pods, one per eye. Stereo night vision with real depth perception, not a flat single-tube image.
7075 aluminum housing
Aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum body. Around 470 g, 83 x 104 x 104 mm, built to take a knock.
Individual pod shut-off
Rotate a pod 90 degrees and it powers off on its own. Run one eye to save the tube and your dark adaptation.

The Iris caps it with a sacrificial polycarbonate lens and an o-ring that keeps grit out, then lets you dial the aperture down when the night is brighter than you want. The turret clicks at infinity focus, so you find it in the dark by feel. FDE or Black.
