Can you get a Gen2+ NVD below 1 300€? Yes you can!
Based on Armasight Sirius there is a new NVD device on the market.

N-14 costs close to 2k€ Is N-14 now obsolete?
The key differences are here:
Parameter | SIRIUS | N-14 | Comment |
Objective lens | 22mm F1.2 | 27mm F1.2 | A bit more light can enter the device. |
Weight | 460g | 340g | Sirius weights 120g more |
Lenght | 147 mm | 117 mm | Sirius is 3 cm longer than N-14 |
Price | 1 275€ | 1950€ | Sirius is 675€ cheaper! |
Last but not least. N-14 optics are considered premium compared to Sirius.
In our opinion Sirius has a really good price / performance ration when you use it hand-held for scouting. If you want to mount your NVD, you should consider N-14. Sirius has slight fish-eye effect, which causes disorientation while moving and is too heavy to be mounted.
Compared to Gen1+ the Sirius is a huge leap ahead both in light amplification and picture clarity, but lacks the optics we are used to with Gen2+.
